Hagel nominates Harris as new PACOM chief
WASHINGTON — Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel on Monday nominated Navy Adm. Harry B. Harris Jr. to be the next commander of U.S. Pacific Command, based in Honolulu. Harris is currently serving as commander of U.S. Pacific Fleet – the naval arm of PACOM.

U.S. Navy sailor from CNY killed in motorcycle crash while stationed in Hawaii
