Passport for Domestic Flight

Passport for Domestic Flight?
I am traveling from Chicago to Honolulu and I'm wondering whether it is necessary to have your passport or Green Card for this kind of flight? Normally, I drive to other states, but I'm flying for the first time. I have gone on international flights though.

If you are an American citizen, you don't need a passport for domestic flights. You are not going to cross any borders. If you are not American, I think that having your green card and passport for identification purposes might be recommended. Check with the airlines.

No unless you aren't a US citizen, then I would say yes bring it but most likely won't need it coming from Chicago. Hawaii is a US state.

You arn't leaving the US so you won't need a passport just your photo ID. For right now you only need a passport to fly out of the country.

You will need photographic proof of identity or you will be refused entry onto the aircraft. A passport is a good document with which to comply with this requirement.

No, you don't need a passport, if you are an American citizen. You don't cross any international borders. Have fun. I wish I was going too. I'm from Chicago and would love to leave the snow for a vacation and return when spring is in full bloom.

You need a valid ID for identification purpose rather than immigration purpose. Valid IDs are drivers licence, military ID, birth certificate (for minor) and passport. Although Green Card have your photo but it is not a form of valid ID. Since you are not leaving the country there is no need for it.
