Place to stay in Honolulu for a few hours?
hey guys, i have about 10 hours in Honolulu between flights and i'd rather not fork out on the full cost of room. does anyone know if there's a place near the airport that rents rooms for a half day or for a few hours or something like that? also, would it be a good idea to rent a carfor a few hours and just sleep in it? cheaper then taxi and room and much closer...what would be a good size car for someone who's 5'10 to comfortably sleep in? thanks for any suggestions

Well, I would just get a book and/or lots of magazines and curl up on the floor of the airport for the duration. I've done it before. Put your carry-on under your head for a pillow and get some sleep. Or sit in the food court area and eat and get on your laptop. Or leave the airport altogether and take a cab to the beach.

When I researched this question for another YA query a few months back, I couldn't find anyplace that rented rooms by the hour. Can't help you with the car thing. It's hard to imagine you could sleep very comfortably in a car, but I give you credit for thinking outside the box.

If you don't want to stay at the airport. The only thing that is open 24hrs is zippy's restaurant and walmart , both in pearl city. You would still have to pay for a cab. There is also a Denney's open 24 hrs in Aiea across from the pearlridge shopping center, you still need a cab. If you get in Hawaii early after noon- 7pm, you could use the bus to go to the pearlridge Shopping center, look around, catch a movie at their theater. You could catch a bus if you walk out to nimitz hwy going toward Pearlridge shopping center and catch the bus back across from the shopping center on Kamehameha (Kam) / nimitz Hwy.
