What is the cost of living in Honolulu, Hawaii

What is the cost of living in Honolulu, Hawaii?
Hey, I am considering moving to Honolulu, Hawaii in the near future..(moving from London), so pursue my career in the Travel and Tourism industry. Is Honolulu, and the Hawaiian islands in general, an expensive place to live? and are flights from the mainland USA to the islands very expensive? Thank you in advance! Another point, is it expensive to travel from one island to another? Thanks again

Yes, in general Hawaii is an expensive place to live. Due to the high price of "stuff" coupled with getting it over here everything runs a little bit higher then usual. Then on top of that there is not much land to continue building houses so that price is also high. Can you do it, of course, takes some penny pinching here and there but the rewards are worth the sacrifices. The flights to the mainland go up and down depending on the season and the bidding wars between the airlines. Just another local.... www.hawaii-vacation-adventures-oahu.com

YES!! It's such a rip off here. If you want a single family home, that runs around 500k. It depends which area though. And it's expensive for anything! Traveling from mainland to hawaii is a huge rip off and so is traveling from island to island. If you move here, you'd probably only be able to afford an apartment or possibly a condo. Plus, you get paid less for jobs here. Since it's supposedly "summer all the time". I mean, the weather is great compared to the mainland but.. it does get a bit chilly. In the 60's. I don't know if 60 degrees is cold to you but for me it's freezing!
