How long, on average, does it take to go from Honolulu airport to downtown Waikiki? I have 3 hours to kill.?
I have 3 hours between flights and it seems like there ought to be something better to do than hang at the airport. Mahalo.

It really depends on the time of day. And you'll want to be back to the airport at least 1 hour to 1-1/2 hours before you depart, so really you have around 1-1/2 hours to kill. During rush hour, between 3:30 - 6:30 pm, it'll take you around 30 minutes from the airport to Waikiki. Account for another 30 minutes to get back and you'll end up with 30 minutes to see Waikiki. And that's if you take a cab, which will probably cost at least $20 one way. So, for $40 you'll get to sit in traffic for close to an hour and spend 30 minutes in Waikiki - that's if you leave around rush hour. Outside of rush hour it takes around 20 minutes each way. You'd be better off hanging out at the airport.

I think we should go kill the Wyoming Mental Health Association and terrorize them with the word "benzo". They should know what that is, their undercover spies use the word constantly. They stick out like a sore thumb.

Not worth it, and you have to allow 1 1/2 hours when you get back in case the security line is long. There are shops, places to eat and you can sit outdoors at the airport (it's mostly open air). Stay put and don't miss your flight.
