should i wait when buying tickets/hotel package to las vegas from hawaii?
ok i'm going to vegas for the like 4th time and last year i stayed at a free upgraded room at the manadalay bay hotel for only $600 (including flight from honolulu), in late april i checked the package price for a standard room and flight-and it's $781! and it sells out daily! omg should i wait till may or june to book my vegas trip on sept 24-29th? or do you guys think the prices will only go up? HELP! i checked all the prices online and even looked at the separate prices of flights and hotel rooms...

When it comes to air fair you are on your own. There is no right or wrong approach because if you book a flight you get penalized of you cancel it. But that is not often the case with hotel rooms. Except for some very limited offers, you can usually cancel a room and book another without penalty. With this in mind, go ahead and book the best deal you can find in the hotel of your choice. Then, periodically keep checking rates. If you find a better rate at some future date you can just cancel the original reservation and make a new one. I, too, have booked many rooms in Vegas. Sometimes it paid to cancel and make a new reservation closer to the date and sometimes I got lucky and took advantage of a promotion that gave a great price that could no longer be gotten. *

They usually don't give promotions that far in advance. They give the promotions at about 30 days before. The thing is that time of the year is the busy period for Vegas. The weather is perfect here at that time. Hard to tell if they are going to drop the prices then. Also that includes a weekend which are still busy here.

The prices are relative to the economy, which in Vegas is showing some improvement. When you see a good deal, purchase dont wait. Check with the hotel web site for the best deals, many not listed on airline websites or those discount ones
