Why wasn't I allowed to walk to the first class section on Hawaiian Airlines

Why wasn't I allowed to walk to the first class section on Hawaiian Airlines?
My dad was sitting in First Class and I was sitting in coach on our trip from Honolulu to Vegas. I walked up to talk to him, but the stupid flight attendent wouldn't let me. Why is that? Also, he had a Digeplayer (in-flight entertainment device) and gave it to me so I wouldn't have to buy one, but they tok it from me, saying we couldn't trade. Why is that? And one more thing, why don't they take cash anymore? Hawaiian Airlines only takes credit and debit cards now. Yes, I did tell the flight attendent that I wanted to talk to my dad. I said "what? I can't talk to my dad?" And, the stupid girl said no.

They don't want the riff raff in First class. Also they probably don't want to have to hassle with change so I'll be they take exact change only. I say fight the power. I always crop dust the first class section when i get on a plane.

maybe next time you should fly with someone else. Sounds like they've never heard of good customer service.

Did you tell your dad about this? The flight attendant was wrong not to let you see your dad and the only reason i can think of is safety, in which case the flight attendant should have offered to pass a message onto your dad. he/she should definitely not have taken your digeplayer though. Tell your dad or mom if you haven't and they should take this matter further.

Your dad should have come back to see you or you should have told the flight attendant to get your Dad's attention... however, I agree that you should have got to see him... As for the IFE device that you got, if they were available for purchase in coach, then you should have been able to use it, if they were exclusive to first class, I can understand why they would keep you from using it...

The airlines are now under requirements to discourage people crossing cabins, and standing around talking. It's a post-9/11 thing. Loitering is a precursor to things they don't want to let happen. It's a drag but all airlines do this now. The player goes with the seat... they don't want to have to track it down, not knowing who has it, to return it to First.

Lots of airlines don't like people to loiter in the isles for safety reasons. They prefer for you to stay in your seat and keep your seatbelt buckled so that if they hit any turbulance you won't hurt yourself. It's also for security reasons due to 911. People loitering in the isles could be passing things back and forth to each other.

I understand that they don't want commotion in first class, but if your dad is sitting up there, they should let you go up there as long as you aren't crazy and go every 5 seconds. Even though they were harsh I understand why they wouldn't you keep the Digeplayer thing. You have to pay money for those and those **** airlines need as much as they can get. I think its stupid that they don't accept money. I understand they might now want to deal with change, but they should say cash only if you have exact change. Fly someone else next time.

coach class 1000 bucks.......1st class 7000 bucks to have everyone else to stay out. that simple.

actually everyone is wrong. most major airlines have very strict rules when it comes to the 2 classes of service, specificly due to the fact of the close proximity of the first class cabin to the flight deck door. The TSA has rules prohibiting pax from congregating in anyone area onboard the aircraft and require pax to remain only in their ticketed cabin. In addition the passengers do pay for first class service and that is expected to protect the integrity of first class. If we gave everything we give to the passengers in first class the liberty to give to whoeever they want, this will open up anger to those in coach. Your dad shouldve either bought you a seat in first or simply toughed it out with you in coach if he wanted to be with you in the flight....we dont make the rules, we just do what we are told to do. the flight attendants did what they followed procedures.

it's because they're all paranoid about anything that is out of the norm. flying SUCKS!! my condolences to you. a few years ago, on a flight from Honolulu to Las Vegas, i asked the flight attendant for some water, and she told me there was none left. and then of course shortly thereafter she brought water to another passenger. whatever. unfortunately all airlines suck. the only reason to fly Hawaiian is b/c they STILL FEED US! again, my condolences... yours in struggle...
