Have connecting flight through New Baiyun (CAN) China do I need a visa?
The flight leaves Hanoi on China Southern Airlines and then flies to New Baiyun (CAN) China. There I catch a Korean Air flight to Singapore and eventually Honolulu.

I advise you strongly to check with your airline, they can give you a definite answer as they get fined for any illegal alien they bring in. But looks that you are OK though..... Take this information on your own risk: National U.S.A. (US) Transit CHINA (PEOPLE'S REP.) (CN) Destination U.S.A. (US) ALSO CHECK DESTINATION INFORMATION BELOW CHINA (PEOPLE'S REP.) (CN) Visa not required provided: - continuing to a third country by same/first connecting aircraft within 24 hours; and - holding confirmed ticket and documents required for onward journey. Leaving the airport transit area is allowed. Overnight facilities are available outside the airport.
