Flying from LA to Manila what layovers can I expect

Flying from LA to Manila what layovers can I expect?
My brother who now lives in Manila is sending me tickets to fly out to visit another old friend who lives in Honolulu was wondering if his home would be a layover so we could see each other even if its only for a short while? do flights to Manila stop in Honolulu?

Philipine Air Lines has non-stop flights to Manila---- but I have flown several times in the past with Continental which allowed layovers in Honolulu----but they took longer because they stopped in Guam for a few hours .. Northwest flies direct to Tokyo where you change planes for Manila----same is true for Cathay---so I believe you're stuck with Continental.! I may be out of date---so call a Travel Agent---they are easier to reach than the Airlines and they are more apt to help you because you know why..

Just fly Philipine Air Lines non-stop from LAX

This is the kind of ticket that will be cheaper, and sometimes only possible, when purchased from a travel agent. Keep in mind that the leg from LA to Honolulu will be on a US airline because that part is US domestic.
